Dermaplane Procedure

Dermaplane treatment lasts around 20-30 minutes per session. During this facial, our professionals will gently scrape over your skin at a 45-degree angle with a dermaplaning tool. All the fine hairs and dead skin cells on the surface will be removed, revealing a fresh, bright layer of young skin. The amazing results of our dermaplane service last approximately 3 weeks.

At Home Care

After a dermaplane treatment, at-home care is especially important, as the newly exposed skin can be sensitive. The first 3-7 days after treatment are essential for the health of this new skin.

  • Do not use scrubs or exfoliators for 1 week
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 3 days
  • Avoid extreme heat for 3 days
  • Avoid chlorine for 1 week

Gentle but hydrating moisturizers and serums should be applied daily. The young skin cells will be especially vulnerable to sunlight, so sunscreen must also be applied daily! These guidelines for post-treatment care will help you keep your skin hydrated and healthy, and you will feel the difference!

What to Expect During Your Denver Dermaplaning Session

Never had a dermaplane before? Let’s walk you through it. Dermaplaning services aren’t just about removing peach fuzz—they’re about making you feel fresh, radiant, and taken care of every step of the way.

1. Cleanse & Prep
Your skin will be gently but thoroughly cleansed to remove makeup, oil, and any surface debris. Then, a prepping solution is applied to ensure the blade glides smoothly and safely.

2. Precision Exfoliation
Using a sterile surgical blade held at a precise angle, your provider will exfoliate the skin and remove vellus hair (aka peach fuzz). It’s painless, oddly satisfying, and low-key addictive. You’ll feel a light scraping sensation—think: soft whisper, not sandpaper.

3. Treatment Absorption Time
Once your skin is fuzz-free and freshly exfoliated, it’s the perfect time to absorb serums, masks, or hydrating treatments. Because what’s the point of a freshly exfoliated face if you don’t drench it in something fabulous?

4. Hydration & Protection
The final step is hydration and sun protection. A lightweight moisturizer and broad-spectrum SPF are applied to calm the skin and defend your new glow from UV drama.

Dermaplaning FAQ

Dermaplaning is like hitting the refresh button on your face—minus the downtime. Using a sterile blade, your esthetician gently exfoliates the surface of your skin, removing dead skin cells and that layer of peach fuzz (yes, all of it). The result? Ultra-smooth, fresh-looking skin that’s instantly more radiant.

But the benefits go beyond the surface. This treatment helps improve product absorption, allows makeup to sit flawlessly, and gives your complexion a healthy, dewy finish. It’s non-invasive, painless, and safe for most skin types—including sensitive skin. If you’ve been looking for a no-fluff way to boost your glow without the harshness of scrubs or peels, dermaplaning might just be your skin’s new best friend.

Considering dermaplaning but still have a few questions? You’re not alone. Let’s break down the details so you know exactly what to expect from Denver’s dermaplaning services—no fluff, no confusion, just facts.

How is dermaplaning different from shaving?
Shaving just cuts hair at the surface. Dermaplaning uses a medical-grade blade to remove both peach fuzz and dead skin cells, giving you exfoliation and glow-up in one session.

Can I get dermaplaning if I have active breakouts or rosacea?
If you’re experiencing inflamed breakouts or flare-ups, it’s best to wait. Dermaplaning can aggravate sensitive skin, so your esthetician may suggest an alternative until things calm down.

How does dermaplaning compare to chemical exfoliation or microdermabrasion?
It’s gentler! Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation method that doesn’t involve chemicals or suction. It’s a great choice for those with sensitive skin or anyone wanting instant results without downtime.

What are the benefits beyond hair removal?
Dermaplaning boosts radiance, improves product absorption, and creates a smoother canvas for makeup. That post-facial glow? Yeah, it’s the real deal.

Should I avoid sun exposure after dermaplaning?
Yes! Your fresh new skin is more sun-sensitive. Always wear SPF and try to limit direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours after your treatment.
